Knights Make Gift To Crossroads

The Onawa-Blencoe Knights of Columbus has made a charitable donation to Crossroads of Western Iowa in Onawa to help support their projects.

Presenting the check to coordinator Kris Rotnicke of Crossroads is Grand Knight Phil Morrow on behalf of C.P.I.D. chairman Franklin Heisterkamp.

The funding for the donation comes from the generous parishioners at St. Bernard (Blencoe), St. John (Onawa) and St. Joseph (Salix) through the Knights’ Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (C.P.I.D.).

Formerly called the Tootsie Roll Drive, the C.P.I.D. program is an annual fundraising effort by the Knights that targets organizations working with mentally challenged individuals. In addition to Crossroads, the Knights donate a percentage to the Iowa Special Olympics.

Crossroads of Western Iowa has met internationally recognized standards of quality in the provision of outcomes-driven programs and services to enhance the lives of the persons it serves. The mission of Crossroads is to touch the lives of those individuals, their families and their communities through residential, work, and day service.
