Free Throw Championship

As sports events come indoors due to weather, it is time to hold a council Free Throw Championship.  The program is open for Boys and Girls ages 9 - 14. The Free Throw is a popular Youth Event in Iowa and it has created numerous International Champions over the years.

All you need to hold an event is a local gym with a regulation basketball rim and a regulation 3-second area.  Use the free-throw line for kids 12 - 14.  Put a tape line 3 feet in front of the free-throw line for ages 9 - 11.  Manpower should be at least 4 Knights to pass the basketballs to the participants, run the balls after the throws, and keep score.  And of course, as many basketballs as you can get.

It is that simple!  Here are the simple steps:

  1. Read the Guidelines .

  2. Check the Regional Competition Schedules by clicking HERE

  3. When you have completed your local competition, make sure to recorded the event via online
    Form 10784.

  4. Other forms to be sent depending on the Competition level. Send all these to freethrow@iowakofc.org.
