2016 State Spelling Bee Winners

The 2016 Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee was held at St. Cecilia Church in Ames on Sunday, March 6. State Youth Director Richard Jacoby, Jr. was present to congratulate the participants and award a $50 check to the state champion of each grade.


4th Grade 1st Place- Braden Bollin, LeMars 2nd Place- Zachary Peace, Bettendorf 3rd Place- Morgan Schulte, New Vienna

5th Grade 1st Place- Abby Glascock, Cedar Falls 2nd Place- Clara Fields, Ames 3rd Place- Emma Biederman, Fayette

6th Grade 1st Place- Paul Brockett, Reinbeck 2nd Place- Alexandra Somodi, Cedar Falls 3rd Place- Sam Yoder, Kalona

7th Grade 1st Place- Colin Battien, Cedar Rapids 2nd Place- Rachel Clayberg, Independence 3rd Place- Brandon Barker, North Liberty
