Let's put our faith into action!

Brother Knights,

Now is the time to plan and to implement the Faith in Action programs! I would like to encourage all councils to talk to their parish priest or council chaplain, and ask what can the Knights of Columbus do to promote and support the various "Faith" programs in our parish at this time.

I would also encourage all councils to meet monthly via Zoom meetings if not meeting in person already. The zoom sessions  can work very well to plan for  your programs  for the Fraternal year.

Many schools are back in session now, and some activities are starting to take place in our communities while following covid-19 mitigation practices. Some of the Faith programs are very easy to implement even with the covid-19 limitations.

The Supreme office of Knights of Columbus as well as the Iowa Knights of Columbus are encouraging everyone to participate via Zoom meeting or at council meetings with the "Into the Breach" video series. Each month on the last Wednesday at 7 p.m. all are invited and encouraged to participate in the monthly video and discussion via Zoom meeting.

You can access the "Into the Breach" Zoom meetings easily by typing in:   IntotheBreach, with the password  IAKnights.

Also, I would encourage you to donate to the RSVP program to support seminarians, and to order and set out Building the Domestic Church booklets where parishioners can choose to pick them up and take them home.

The Holy Hour program can be done simply before or after Mass with Father's approval and participation. The Sacramental Gifts program can be utilized for baptisms, marriages, confirmations, and First Communion. The Marian prayer program, Rosary program, and Spiritual Reflection programs can all be organized and can even be accomplished via Zoom meetings or virtual video sessions.

I urge all councils to get "creative" and "think outside the box" as you plan for your Faith programs this fraternal year.

Any questions feel free to contact me by text or email. Thank you for your participation in the faith programs with your councils!

Vivat Jesus!
