Knights Receive Award from Supreme Council

Onawa-Blencoe Council 6249 of the Knights of Columbus was presented the Columbian Award at its monthly meeting on October 5th. Presenting the plaque to grand knight Phil Morrow was district deputy Dennis Kluver of Sioux City.

Those councils deemed outstanding in their implementation of the Service Program are eligible to be honored by the Supreme Council with the Columbian Award. This award is tangible testimony of the efficiency, industry and excellent activity of the council.

In order to qualify for the Columbian Award, the council must annually conduct and report up to four (4) activities in each of the following major programs: Faith (e.g., vocations), Family (e.g., toy drive), Community (e.g., Food for Families) and Life (e.g., Special Olympics). The Onawa-Blencoe Knights are actively involved in all of these areas.
