19 March Notes from the Iowa District

19March Notes from the Iowa District:

Worthy Sir Knights:

Duty Call:

Note exemplification upcoming in Northern Iowa as well as the opportunity to be a part of the national tour of the incorruptible heart of St John Vianney.

We will be sending another Notes communication to you later in the month with convention information.

Sioux City Exemplification was postponed from February 23rd until the following Saturday March 2nd. 12 new Sir Knights joined our ranks that day. Congratulations to them as well as to Gerald Schulte and his lovely bride MaryAnn. Gerry has been a Knight since 1951 and a fellow Sir Knight for nearly 30 of those 68 years. He and MaryAnn have been married for 66 years and have 5 children. Gerry is an exemplar of dedication to stand by his post as husband, father and Sir Knight.

Holy Relics Tour

As I hope you are aware the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a nationwide tour of Curé of Ars Heart.

The St Jean Marie Vianney heart relic will be in Omaha at Saint Cecilia Cathedral 701 N 40th St on Thursday March 21. Mass will be celebrated at 10AM with veneration to follow until 2PM. The participation of Sir Knights in the Honor Guards is welcomed and encouraged. Please notify the Nebraska District Master rwlowerykofc@gmail.com of your intention to participate or contact myself.

Its Lenten Fish Fry season across our district. Included with this mailing is a letter and flyer from Brother Ukena describing how you can get involved. At a minimum distribute some of the flyers at your next fish fry event to raise awareness in your locale of this worthy project.
